What you need.
NFC tags are obtained separately. Petter Days also supports record-keeping on iPad, but the tag operations in this guide require a compatible iPhone.
- A compatible NFC-capable iPhone with Petter Days installed.
- A writable NFC tag supported by the app. Check compatibility before buying.
- The pet and record type you want the shortcut to open.
Configure it, verify it, then put it to use.
For example, place a water-record shortcut near drinking supplies. Prefilled values are saved settings, not measurements: adjust them to match what happened this time.
- In the app’s NFC feature, choose the pet and record type, with optional prefilled details.
- Follow the app’s instructions to write the tag, then verify its contents.
- Read the tag once to check that it opens the intended shortcut before placing it where you will use it.
- Each time, check the pet, time and values, then complete the app’s confirmation and saving steps.
A tap opens the door. You confirm the care.
A tag does not measure water or know whether medication was given. Reading a tag, opening the app and successfully saving a record are separate steps.
Your iPhone may show a notification that you need to tap. Behavior depends on the device, system state and tag contents. You can still open records inside the app without a tag.
Choose carefully what goes on a tag.
Tag contents are not encrypted and may be read or copied. Reading a tag does not grant library access. Before writing, review what information is included in tags and fallback links.
